Walmart Inc. has introduced an autonomous cleaner that cleans and polishes the floor of its stores.
In a blog post, the big-box retailer said the device, which is called Auto-C, will help free up employees to do other tasks.
The robotic cleaner is now being used at 78 stores and will be rolled out to 360 more locations soon, the company said.
Auto-C is the latest addition to Walmart's technology investments. In August, the company launched a pilot program called Alphabot that will use robotics to fulfill online grocery orders. It also outlined plans earlier this year to roll out pickup towers for online orders in its stores nationwide.
