Viacom, Charter carriage talks approaching deadlock

Carriage talks between Viacom Inc. and Charter Communications Inc. are heading toward a potential deadlock, Multichannel News reported Oct. 11, citing a company statement.

With the current deal set to expire Oct. 15, Viacom has started warning Charter subscribers of a potential disruption of service for all of its networks.

While Charter declined to comment, Viacom said in a statement that it has made a "series of very attractive offers to Charter that are consistent with terms we've recently reached with other large cable operators."
