Banswara Syntex fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Banswara Syntex Ltd said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was 1.12 Indian rupees per share, a decrease of 78.0% from 5.11 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 18.4 million rupees, a decline of 77.2% from 80.6 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 0.6% from 2.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased year over year to 3.00 billion rupees from 3.06 billion rupees, and total operating expenses rose year over year to 2.78 billion rupees from 2.74 billion rupees.

Reported net income fell 77.1% from the prior-year period to 16.7 million rupees, or 1.02 rupees per share, from 72.7 million rupees, or 4.61 rupees per share.

As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to 62.03 Indian rupees.
