Carolina Trust BancShares declassifies board

The board of Carolina Trust BancShares Inc. amended its bylaws to adopt a staggered structure, wherein the board will be divided into three, approximately even classes, with directors elected to three-year terms.

The amendment took effect Feb. 1.

The Lincolnton, N.C.-based company's board also amended its bylaws to require all directors to be elected yearly during the annual shareholder meeting.
