Emperia Holding Q1 profit climbs YOY

Emperia Holding SA said its first-quarter normalized net income came to 97 groszy per share, a gain from 27 groszy per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 12.5 million zlotys, a gain from 3.7 million zlotys in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 2.6% from 0.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed year over year to 486.3 million zlotys from 479.4 million zlotys, and total operating expenses declined from the prior-year period to 466.4 million zlotys from 473.9 million zlotys.

Reported net income increased year over year to 18.8 million zlotys, or 1.46 zlotys per share, from 3.2 million zlotys, or 23 groszy per share.

As of May 13, US$1 was equivalent to 3.60 zlotys.
