Fla. congressmen introduce bill to postpone flood insurance rate hikes

U.S. Reps. David Jolly, R-Fla., and Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla.,introduced H.R. 4866, a bill that would delay any increase in flood insurancepremium rates for certain properties for 12 months.

The Flood Insurance Rate Increase Suspension Act was filedMarch 24, according to a March 29 news release.

Rates under the National Flood Insurance Program arescheduled to increase April 1.
