Finland-based Aktia Pankki Oyj named Elina Aartola-Mäkelä chief risk officer, effective Jan. 20, 2020.

Aartola-Mäkelä joins Aktia from Nordea Bank Abp, where she was head of regulatory in group credit risk and control. She will be responsible for the management and development of Aktia's group risk and compliance function, as well as for risk reporting, and will report to CEO Mikko Ayub.

Aartola-Mäkelä replaces Tina Schumacher, who was appointed chief risk officer at Finnvera Oyj in November.
