Report: Apple to reduce iPhone production in Q1'17

Apple Inc. will cut production of its iPhones by about 10% in the first quarter of 2017, Nikkei Asian Review reported Dec. 30, citing The Nikkei's calculations based on supplier data.

The iPhone manufacturer saw its net sales drop in the first quarter of 2016. The company already lowered production of its iPhone 6s line because of accumulated inventory at the end of 2015 and slashed the production of the iPhone 7 by about 20%.

The global sales patterns and information on the production of the latest phone models indicate that iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus lines' output will be cut in the coming quarter, according to the report.
