Bulgarian DTH operator Bulsatcom gets fine over sports offer

direct-to-home operator Bulsatcom received a590,792 Bulgarian leva fine from the country's competition regulator, afterfailing to provide adequate details to subscribers regarding a new offer, reported April 27.

Bulsatcomcustomers were not adequately informed regarding the Diema Extra pack, whichwas offered since March 2015 for an additional charge of 3.96 leva, accordingto the report.

The packagecontained two sports channels, yet Bulsatcom did not reportedly reduce themonthly subscription even when one of the channels was not on air for a certaintime.

The fine isequivalent to 0.4% of Bulsatcom's total turnover for the previous financialyear.   

As of April 27, US$1 was equivalent to 1.73Bulgarian leva.
