OMRON fiscal Q3 profit climbs 66.9% YOY

OMRON Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2016, came to ¥60.89 per share, an increase of 68.4% from ¥36.16 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥13.02 billion, an increase of 66.9% from ¥7.80 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 6.6% from 3.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined year over year to ¥197.09 billion from ¥200.55 billion, and total operating expenses declined 6.4% year over year to ¥177.17 billion from ¥189.37 billion.

Reported net income grew 57.2% year over year to ¥14.77 billion, or ¥69.07 per share, from ¥9.39 billion, or ¥43.55 per share.

As of Feb. 10, US$1 was equivalent to ¥113.57.
