Mars Engineering fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Mars Engineering Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to ¥62.54 per share, an increase from ¥60.80 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.13 billion, a decline from ¥1.16 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 14.3% from 15.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew year over year to ¥7.94 billion from ¥7.72 billion, and total operating expenses climbed from the prior-year period to ¥6.15 billion from ¥6.02 billion.

Reported net income fell 23.2% year over year to ¥1.14 billion, or ¥63.16 per share, from ¥1.49 billion, or ¥78.17 per share.

As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.68.
