Macauto Industrial Q1 profit climbs 94.0% YOY

Macauto Industrial Co. Ltd. said its first-quarter normalized net income came to NT$1.93 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of NT$2.26 per share.

EPS climbed 93.4% year over year from 100 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was NT$144.8 million, an increase of 94.0% from NT$74.7 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 13.8% from 9.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 28.4% year over year to NT$1.05 billion from NT$815.0 million, and total operating expenses increased 21.5% from the prior-year period to NT$809.4 million from NT$666.4 million.

Reported net income increased 83.3% on an annual basis to NT$184.1 million, or NT$2.45 per share, from NT$100.4 million, or NT$1.34 per share.
