IMAX Corp. appointed Megan Colligan president of IMAX Entertainment and executive vice president of IMAX Corp.
The appointment takes effect Feb. 19, 2019, immediately following a consulting period, the company said in a news release dated Oct. 15.
Colligan will report to IMAX Corp. CEO Rich Gelfond. She will oversee IMAX Corp.'s global entertainment division. Colligan will also be responsible for the company's original content development, production and distribution, and the company's alternative content strategy, among others.
The appointment comes as Greg Foster, the company's CEO, IMAX Entertainment and senior executive vice president, prepares to step down from his role upon the expiration of his contract by year-end. He has been with IMAX Corp. for almost 18 years.
Colligan served in executive roles at Viacom Inc.'s Paramount Pictures from 2006 to 2017. She most recently served as worldwide president of marketing and distribution, from 2014 to 2017.
