Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Inc. acquired Steward Health Choice Arizona Inc. after securing all regulatory approvals.

Blue Cross Blue Shield will now provide health coverage and related services to those eligible for Medicaid or both Medicaid and Medicare. No significant changes are intended to Health Choice plan operations.

Blue Cross Blue Shield agreed to acquire the company in November 2019 from Steward Health Care System LLC and Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System.

Health Choice offers managed care programs, including commercial, employer-based and large government-sponsored programs.
