Eli Lilly CEO earns $15.8M in 2017

David Ricks earned a total of $15.8 million during his first year as Eli Lilly and Co.'s CEO.

Ricks took over the position Jan. 1, 2017, succeeding John Lechleiter who retired as the pharma giant's president and CEO in 2016.

According to Lilly's 2018 proxy filing, Ricks' annual base salary for 2017 amounted to $1.4 million, with additional $2.8 million of incentive pay.

Ricks was also granted $10.2 million in stock awards, which were given based on the company's future performance. He also received an increase in pension value worth $1.3 million, along with $84,000 in 401(k) matching funds.
