Makalot Industrial Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the first quarter came to NT$2.32 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of NT$2.99 per share.
EPS increased 17.3% year over year from NT$1.98.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was NT$487.3 million, an increase of 30.8% from NT$372.5 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 8.4% from 7.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 10.9% on an annual basis to NT$5.78 billion from NT$5.21 billion, and total operating expenses increased 8.6% year over year to NT$5.01 billion from NT$4.62 billion.
Reported net income rose 30.6% year over year to NT$641.6 million, or NT$3.06 per share, from NT$491.4 million, or NT$2.61 per share.
As of May 12, US$1 was equivalent to NT$30.75.
