Société Générale SA said its unit Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking will launch a platform in Paris that will offer customers clearing services on listed derivatives and over-the-counter products by the end of 2018.
The French lender currently offers clearing capabilities from London, New York and Hong Kong.
Additionally, SocGen noted in the past year it has strengthened its prime services sales team in continental Europe with certain appointments. The bank named Stéphane Eglizeau global head of sales for professional trading groups for the prime services team in Paris. Eglizeau previously served as ABN AMRO Clearing Bank NV's CEO for Asia-Pacific.
SocGen also appointed Ebru Ciaravino as head of prime services sales' head of German and Austrian clients. Ciaravino previously served with Deutsche Börse AG and Eurex Group.
The prime services sales team is within the CIB's global markets activities and offers multi-asset and multi-instrumental prime brokerage propositions, including execution, clearing and financing. The team is also present in Italy, Sweden, Spain and Switzerland.
