Rowan contracts jack-up rig to Repsol subsidiary for Guyanese project

Rowan Cos. plc announced March 13 its high-specification Super 116E jack-up rig EXL II was granted a contract by Repsol Exploración Guyana SA, a subsidiary of Spanish oil giant Repsol S.A., for work in Guyana.

The contract will start in the third quarter, covers one well and is expected to last approximately 45 days. The jack-up rig is currently under contract with oil major BP PLC in Trinidad.

Financial details were not disclosed.
