Carrefour's new platform allows customers to deliver groceries to one another

Carrefour SA has launched a new grocery delivery platform in France named Merci Voisin, Retail Detail reported Oct. 13.

The French retailer's new platform, whose name means "thanks neighbor" in French, allows customers to deliver groceries to one another, according to the report.

The Merci Voisin platform requires customers to register in the app and then choose if they want to deliver groceries or have other customers deliver groceries to them, the report said.

Consumers who deliver groceries receive a small fee for their services and are reviewed, the report said.

Carrefour Belgium is testing a similar service with Bpost' bringr, Retail Detail reported. The platform, which makes use of couriers based on their location, has expanded to the majority of Belgium over the past year, according to the report.
