Google signs 1st carrier billing deal in India

's Google makes itsfirst foray into carrier billing in India, as it enteredin a direct carrier billing agreement with telecom operator , CNBC reported May 4.

The saidpartnership will allow Idea Cellular subscribers to purchase apps, games,books, and in-app features in Google Play without a credit card, as all purchaseswill be charged straight to the users' phone bill instead.

CNBC alsoreported, citing sources briefed on the matter, that Idea Cellular is purportedlyworking with U.K.-based mobilepayment company Bango to facilitate the Google Play integration.
