Major automakers to recall 5,137 cars in South Korea

South Korea's transport ministry said March 22 that five automakers and importers will recall 5,137 vehicles in the country to repair faulty parts, Yonhap News Agency reported the same day.

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, or BMW; Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz; Ford Motor Co.; Toyota Motor Corp.; and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV will pull around 29 models, including Mercedes-Benz's C 200 sedan for a malfunctioning seat belt and BMW's X3 xDrive20d SUV for a defective part in the fuel tank.

Owners of the affected car models can visit designated repair and service centers for free repairs, the report added.
