Germany's ProSiebenSat.1 names new CEO

ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE's supervisory board named Max Conze, former executive board chairman at British technology company Dyson Ltd., as its new CEO, effective June 1.

Conze is taking over from Thomas Ebeling, who is stepping down Feb. 22 after an earlier agreement with ProSiebenSat.1's supervisory board. Ebeling's term was supposed to end in mid-2019.

As previously announced, ProSiebenSat.1 Deputy CEO Conrad Albert will serve as the German media company's chairman on an interim basis from Feb. 23 to May 31.

Conze, who worked with Dyson from 2011 to 2017, is credited for enabling the company's digital transformation and technology investments. In his new role, he will lead ProSiebenSat.1 under a new corporate structure divided into media, content production and global sales, and commerce units.

Earlier reports said Gerhard Zeiler, president of Turner Broadcasting System Inc. unit Turner International Inc., was also considered for the CEO post at ProSiebenSat.1.
