German factory orders rise 3.6% in August from July

German factory orders rose 3.6% in August from July, on a seasonally and working-day adjusted basis, amid rising domestic and foreign demand, after a 0.4% decrease in July, the Federal Statistical Office said.

Domestic orders increased 2.7% and foreign orders were up 4.3% in August from the previous month. New orders from the euro area were down 1.0%, while new orders from other countries increased 7.7%.

New orders for intermediate goods increased by 6.7%, and orders for capital goods were up 1.6%. New orders for consumer goods increased 4.8% in August.
