Cheniere gets approval to start service on Sabine Pass train 5

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission authorized a fifth LNG train to enter commercial service at Cheniere Energy Inc.'s Sabine Pass export terminal in Louisiana as part of a significant expansion of the company's business. First commercial delivery is scheduled for August, under the terms of the partnership's sale and purchase agreements with Centrica PLC and Total Gas & Power North America Inc.

Cheniere gets OK to introduce feedgas to 2nd Corpus Christi LNG train

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved a request from a Cheniere Energy unit to introduce feedgas to the second liquefaction train of its Corpus Christi LNG export terminal in Texas, a significant step toward bringing the facility online in the second half of 2019. The March 11 authorization of the Corpus Christi Liquefaction LLC request came 10 days after FERC allowed the first LNG production train at the Corpus Christi terminal to start commercial service.

Kinder Morgan's Elba Island LNG cleared to bring in feed gas as start date nears

Kinder Morgan Inc. subsidiaries received federal authorization to introduce feed gas to the Elba Island LNG export project near Savannah, Ga., as the project moves closer to an expected startup by the end of March. The roughly $2 billion export project, one of up to three new U.S. LNG export facilities set to come online in 2019 in addition to the three in operation today, will be capable of producing about 2.5 million tonnes per annum of LNG once all of its 10 modular liquefaction units are online.

FERC approves 205,000-Dth/d Empire Pipeline expansion for US Northeast, Canada

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved a compression-based Empire Pipeline Inc. expansion project designed to provide 205,000 Dth/d of additional firm natural gas transportation service to local distribution markets in the U.S. Northeast and Canada. The project will include two new compressor stations, one in Tioga County and one in Ontario County, that would raise the pressure on the system.

Proposal to move 400,000 Dth/d more gas to Sabine Pass clears hurdle at FERC

A proposed new compressor station that would increase the Sabine Pass LNG export terminal's gas access would not significantly impact the environment, according to a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's staff environmental review. Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America LLC's Sabine Pass Compression Project involves building a 22,490-horsepower compressor station that would allow Natural Gas Pipeline Co. to deliver an additional 400,000 Dth/d of natural gas to Cheniere Energy's Sabine Pass in Louisiana.
