Under Armour Q4 profit falls 10.0% YOY

Under Armour Inc. said its normalized net income for the fourth quarter was 22 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 25 cents per share.

EPS fell 11.0% year over year from 24 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $96.4 million, a decrease of 10.0% from $107.1 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 7.4% from 9.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 11.5% year over year to $1.31 billion from $1.17 billion, and total operating expenses grew 14.9% from the prior-year period to $1.14 billion from $993.1 million.

Reported net income came to $106.9 million, or 24 cents per share, compared to $106.1 million, or 24 cents per share, in the prior-year period.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 55 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 60 cents.

EPS was 55 cents in the prior year.

Normalized net income was $242.7 million, compared with $241.7 million in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue grew 21.8% year over year to $4.83 billion from $3.96 billion, and total operating expenses rose 24.0% on an annual basis to $4.41 billion from $3.55 billion.

The company said reported net income declined 14.5% year over year to $200.2 million, or 45 cents per share, in the full year, from $234.1 million, or 53 cents per share.
