Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's Inc. have selected Mastercard Inc. to be the provider for the outdoor retailer’s combined consumer credit co-brand portfolio.
Under the new partnership, the Cabela's CLUB credit card business will convert to Mastercard, merging the outdoor retailers' portfolios under a single network. The company intends to make conservation an important component of CLUB's mission going forward.
Together, the companies will develop programs to engage cardholders in conservation and education efforts.
The transition is expected to take place before the end of 2018.
Cabela's completed its $5 billion acquisition of Bass Pro Shops in September 2017.
