Moody's places Worldpay ratings under review for upgrade following Fidelity deal

Moody's said it placed the Ba2 corporate family, Ba2 senior secured credit facilities and B1 senior unsecured notes ratings of Worldpay Inc. under review for upgrade, following Fidelity National Information Services Inc.'s planned roughly $43 billion acquisition of the company.

Moody's said the deal will combine two leaders in bank payment processing and merchant acquiring, creating a stronger business profile. The rating agency also said the deal will significantly increase Worldpay's scale and expand its global distribution, as well as allow Worldpay access to Fidelity's referral network of banks, which will help the company sustain its high-single digits revenue growth.

The outcome of the review will depend on how Fidelity supports Worldpay and Worldpay Finance PLC's remaining debt, post-merger.
