Minaurum Gold Inc. said Aug. 3 that it commenced a minimum 5,000-meter diamond drilling program at the Alamos silver project in Sonora, Mexico, targeting seven major mineralized vein structures identified in its sampling and mapping program.
Three of the structures were the source of the historic 200-million-ounce high-grade silver production at the Alamos district, which may still contain overlooked silver shoots.
The program will include drilling at the mineralized structures parallel to and down dip of the La Quintera and Promontorio zones, together with the previously unexplored Gap zone in between them, as well as the Minas Nuevas target. The program is the first systematic drill program that will be carried out in the historic district, Minaurum Gold CEO Darrell Rader said in a statement.
