ECONOS Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 came to ¥49.13 per share, a decrease of 27.4% from ¥67.65 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥51.9 million, a gain of 16.6% from ¥44.5 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 4.4% from 3.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue fell 5.2% on an annual basis to ¥1.18 billion from ¥1.24 billion, and total operating expenses fell 6.7% from the prior-year period to ¥1.07 billion from ¥1.15 billion.
Reported net income increased 30.3% on an annual basis to ¥50.8 million, or ¥48.12 per share, from ¥39.0 million, or ¥59.29 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥46.10 per share, a decline of 54.3% from ¥100.90 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥38.4 million, a decrease of 42.2% from ¥66.4 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue declined on an annual basis to ¥4.18 billion from ¥4.25 billion, and total operating expenses totaled ¥4.05 billion, compared with ¥4.07 billion in the prior-year period.
The company said reported net income declined 45.2% on an annual basis to ¥31.8 million, or ¥38.22 per share, in the full year, from ¥58.0 million, or ¥88.17 per share.
