Dhampure Speciality Sugars Ltd said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 came to 40 Indian paise per share, a gain of 34.9% from 30 paise per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 2.9 million rupees, a gain of 34.6% from 2.1 million rupees in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 3.0% from 2.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue totaled 96.2 million rupees, compared with 96.7 million rupees in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses fell on an annual basis to 92.0 million rupees from 93.5 million rupees.
Reported net income increased 26.2% from the prior-year period to 3.1 million rupees, or 43 paise per share, from 2.4 million rupees, or 34 paise per share.
As of Aug. 14, US$1 was equivalent to 60.85 Indian rupees.
