Axel Springer appoints KKR execs to its supervisory board

Axel Springer SE appointed KKR & Co. Inc. executives to its supervisory board following the U.S. private equity company's acquisition of the German media firm's shares.

The addition of Johannes Huth, member and head of KKR EMEA; Philipp Freise, member and co-head of EMEA Private Equity at KKR; and Franziska Kayser, director in Private Equity at KKR with a focus on technology, media and telecommunications means the nine-member supervisory board is complete, the company said in a statement.

This comes after the resignation of Alexander Karp, co-founder and CEO of Palantir Technologies; Iris Knobloch, Président-Directeur Géneral of Warner Bros. France SA; and Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller, managing partner and CEO of TRUMPF GmbH + Co. KG from Axel Springer's supervisory board on Dec. 31, 2019.
