Apple's TV app now live

Apple Inc.'s new TV app, simply called "TV," is live now, TechCrunch reported Dec. 12.

After unveiling the new app in October, the iPhone maker on Dec. 12 rolled out iOS and tvOS updates, giving owners of Apple TVs, iPhones and iPads a single place to access TV series and films from all the apps they have on their devices. The app also helps users keep track of their favorite shows, get recommendations and search across various apps, along with giving them access to their iTunes library and store, according to the report.

Using Live Tune-in with Siri, Apple's voice-activated assistant, consumers can ask which games are on right now, or tell her the program they want to watch. The command immediately starts streaming the content without the need for navigation. Further, consumers can ask Siri for recommendations by using commands like "Show me great comedy movies."

The "Watch Now" section of the app reportedly includes all shows from the users' iTunes and other apps. The "Up Next" feature lets users know more about the shows they are currently viewing or new purchases and rentals that they have made.
