Landsec launches campaign against single-use plastic bottles at retail centers

Landsec is working with 92 retail brands to introduce the Refill Me campaign to tackle single-use plastic water bottles across its shopping centers, outlet malls and leisure parks by 2020.

Through the campaign, retail stores will offer free refills to customers who use their own water bottles, while the customers are not obliged to purchase any products from retailers taking part in this program.

Some 149 stores have signed up for the campaign from 92 brands, including Caffé Nero, Costa, Lush, McDonald's and Pret A Manger. The initiative, which officially began Aug. 1, has been rolled out across the Bluewater, Trinity Leeds, Gunwharf Quays and Westgate Oxford shopping centers in the U.K.
