No request received from Bank Audi to sell Egyptian unit, central bank says

The Central Bank of Egypt (SAE) said it has not received a request from Lebanon-based Bank Audi SAL to sell its Egyptian subsidiary Bank Audi (SAE), Reuters reported, citing a statement from the regulator.

The central bank's statement comes following a report by Thomson Reuters' Zawya, which cited Saudi broadcast channel Al Arabiya TV, that Bank Audi was seeking to sell the unit, as part of a restructuring process due to the political and economic emergency in Lebanon.
