Harte Gold Corp. said Oct. 15 that it achieved first gold pour at the Sugar Zone mine in Ontario.
"With this achievement we have advanced from permitting the project to gold production in under four weeks, a significant accomplishment," President and CEO Stephen Roman said. The plant's startup is continuing to run smoothly with no material issues reported.
Meanwhile, the mill has been stabilized and gold is being recovered on site by gravity processing. A flotation concentrate is being produced that will be transported off-site for processing.
Harte Gold restarted ore production from underground, which will add to the surface stockpile. The company has opened five levels at the Sugar Zone south ramp, representing around six months of ore, which are ready for longhole mining.
