Regions Financial director to retire; Atlantic Capital names division presidents

Eric Fast will retire from Regions Financial Corp.'s board effective at the 2020 annual meeting of shareholders. Fast has been a Regions director since 2010.


Carl Metzgar resigned as a director of Riverview Financial Corp. and Riverview Bank, effective Dec. 19, to pursue other interests. Metzgar has served as a director since 2016.

Metzgar's board position will not be filled and the board will be reduced to 12 members.


Newport, Vt.-based Community National Bank promoted Amanda Pepin to credit administration officer. Pepin joined the bank's credit administration department in 2008 and most recently was a senior credit analyst at the company.


Westamerica Bancorp.'s board nominated Melanie Chiesa as an independent member of the board, effective Jan. 23, 2020, until her successor is duly nominated, qualified and elected. Chiesa is a partner in her family's walnut and almond farming operations in Stanislaus County, Calif.


Atlantic Capital Bancshares Inc. named Rich Oglesby president of its Atlanta division and Kurt Shreiner president of its corporate financial services division.


First Mid Bancshares Inc. named Zak Horn to the company's board, effective Jan. 21, 2020, increasing the board size to nine directors from eight.


American National Bankshares Inc. named Edward Martin executive vice president. He is executive vice president and chief credit officer of unit American National Bank and Trust Co., a position he has held since April 2017 and in which he will continue.


Robert Golden resigned from the boards of Dime Community Bancshares Inc. and unit Dime Community Bank, effective Dec. 31, for personal reasons. Effective the same day, the boards of the company and the bank will decrease to 11 members from 12 members.


James Carpenter, senior executive vice president and chief lending officer of New York Community Bancorp Inc., will transition into a consulting role with the company for three years, starting Jan. 1, 2020. John Adams, executive vice president and chief credit officer at the company, will succeed Carpenter in his position.


Bryn Mawr Bank Corp.-owned Bryn Mawr Trust Co. hired Mike Stevens as senior vice president and commercial banking team lead.

He most recently was a vice president of commercial lending at BB&T, now Truist Financial Corp., in Berks County, Penn.


Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh elected Dr. Howard Slaughter Jr. to a public interest independent director position, effective Jan. 1, 2020. Slaughter will fill the unexpired term of former director Cheryl Johnson, which ends Dec. 31, 2020. Slaughter is the president and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh.


Bar Harbor Bank & Trust promoted Keri Denis to assistant vice president, senior credit analyst. Denis joined the Bar Harbor Bankshares unit in 2018.


Financial Institutions Inc. unit Five Star Bank hired W. Jack Plants II as senior vice president and corporate treasurer. Plants most recently was senior vice president and treasurer of United Bank.

Financial services

Western Union Co. named Shelly Swanback president of product and platform. She will start her new role in January 2020.

Swanback most recently was group operating officer for Accenture Digital.


Allen Berg, a multifamily office and investment management services professional, will join Focus Financial Partners Inc.'s partner firm, Kovitz Investment Group Partners LLC, based in Chicago. Berg works with ultra-high net worth clients and provides comprehensive family office, investment management and holistic financial planning services, with specific expertise in tax and estate planning services.


Bridgewater Associates LP named Rebecca Patterson senior investor within the company's investment research team. She most recently was chief investment officer of Bessemer Trust.
