AT&T reaches tentative agreement with CWA covering former DIRECTV employees

AT&T Inc. and Communications Workers of America reached a tentative agreement covering former DIRECTV tech support employees in seven states.

The tentative agreement, covering about 500 CWA-represented employees in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, and Tennessee, will place the employees into an existing labor contract, according to a Jan. 30 news release.

The former DIRECTV employees joined AT&T as part of its acquisition of DIRECTV. AT&T reached, and union-represented employees ratified, 15 labor agreements in 2016, which cover about 61,000 employees. The agreements also include nine agreements covering about 7,300 former DIRECTV employees.
