Sempra tees up another Midwest wind deal with Geronimo Energy

Sempra U.S.Gas & Power LLC has acquired Geronimo Energy LLC's 100-MW wind project inHuron County, Mich.

Construction on the project is expected to begin later thisyear, with commercial operations scheduled for 2017. utility will takeoutput of the project under a 15-year contract, according to S&P GlobalMarket Intelligence data.

Apple Blossom represents Sempra U.S. Gas & Power'ssecond Midwest wind deal with Geronimo Energy, having earlier the 78-MW in Stearns County, Minn., in March 2015.

With completion of Apple Blossom, Sempra U.S. Gas &Power, SempraEnergy's renewable energy and natural gas infrastructure segment,will own more than 1,300 MW of wind capacity in eight states, according to aJuly 22 news release.
