8point3 Operating Co. LLC has acquired an interest in a 5-MWrooftop solar project in Maryland for $12 million in cash.

The 8point3Energy Partners LP subsidiary acquired the interest from affiliatesSunPower Corp. andSunPower AssetCo LLC, according to a Form 8-K filed July 6.

8point3 Energy Partners itself is the joint yieldco ofFirst Solar Inc. andSunPower.
