Blumhouse Productions LLC tapped Netflix Inc. executive Karen Barragan to serve as head of marketing and communications, Variety reported Dec. 20, citing a company statement.
Barragan, who has been serving Netflix as vice president for original series publicity for the last six years, will join Blumhouse in January 2019. In her new role, Barragan will manage Blumhouse's film and television divisions.
Barragan will succeed Teri Everett, who is leaving the production company. Blumhouse, which is known for movies such as "Get Out," "Insidious" and TV series like HBO (US)'s "Sharp Objects," has reportedly generated more than $4 billion at the box office.
