Industrial production in France rebounded in June after falling by 0.2% in May, the country's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies said.
Total industrial output increased by 0.6% in June, slightly above Econoday's consensus estimate of a 0.5% gain.
Output in the manufacturing industry increased by 0.6% in June after dropping by 0.5% in May as manufacturing of coke and refined petroleum products and transportation equipment bounced back. Manufacturing of food products and beverages and machinery and equipment decreased from the previous month.
On a year-over-year basis, total industrial output increased by 1.0% in June and manufacturing output was up by 1.4%.
In the second quarter, total industrial output fell by 0.4%, but manufacturing output edged up by 0.1% from the previous quarter.
