Ellington Financial prices common stock offering

Ellington Financial Inc. priced an underwritten public offering of 4.6 million common shares at a price to the public of $18.29 per share.

The Old Greenwich, Conn.-based company granted the underwriters an option for 30 days to buy up to an additional 690,000 common shares.

The offering is expected to close Jan. 24.

Ellington Financial expects to use the net proceeds of the offering to acquire its targeted assets. Net proceeds may also be used for working capital and general corporate purposes.

Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, BofA Securities, UBS Securities LLC and Keefe Bruyette & Woods Inc. are joint book-running managers for the offering.
