Bank of China Ltd. will launch operations in Argentina with an eye toward financing trade and investments in the South American country, El Cronista reported, citing information from the Argentine embassy in Beijing.
The plan was presented during a meeting with the Beijing-based bank's chairman, Siqing Chen, and with Banco Central de la República Argentina President Federico Sturzenegger.
This will be the Bank of China's sixth branch in Latin America, after the opening of its branch in Chile early in June.
