NPPD, Scottsbluff again offering community solar shares

The Nebraska Public Power District is partnering with Scottsbluff, Neb., to offer community solar shares to their customers in the city.

The approximately 4.4-MW solar farm, which is scheduled to enter operation this spring, will start taking share registrations Jan. 2.

This will be the second community solar project that NPPD is offering to its customers, after the initial solar farm was well received and sold out immediately, according to a news release.

"NPPD will purchase 100 percent of the output, selling all shares to interested businesses and residents for them to add to their electric mix," said Tim Arlt, NPPD general manager of retail.

An end-use customer who decides not to participate in community solar will not see any impact on their bill, the utility said.
