The Monday Express: MFB Acquisition buying Maryland Financial Bank

* President Donald Trump tweeted Friday that the government will pursue fines and penalties against Wells Fargo despite reports that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's temporary head Mick Mulvaney may let the company off the hook for penalties related to their mortgage lending practices.

* Goldman Sachs is considering clearing bitcoin futures contracts for some of its clients once the derivatives go live, a Bloomberg News source says.

* MFB Acquisition is buying Maryland Financial Bank in a deal expected to close in the second or third quarter of 2018.

* In Minnesota, Park State Bank and Pioneer National Bank of Duluth are merging in a deal expected to close late in the first quarter of 2018.

* A former employee, who is suing Banc of California for wrongful termination, also alleged that the company has illegally increased its profits, had a culture of sexual harassment and that corporate money was spent in strip clubs.

* Voya Financial is in talks to sell up to $50 billion in retirement-income annuities to Apollo Global Management, sources for The Wall Street Journal say.

* Moody's said the 2018 outlook for U.S. property and casualty personal insurance industry is stable due to strong capital base and adequate earnings capacity.

* And Citizens Property Insurance plans to have 500,173 policies in force across its business lines at the end of 2018, compared to the 442,639 policies the company expects to be in force as of Dec. 31.
