Kristen Donoghue, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's assistant director for enforcement, has resigned, American Banker reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.
Her resignation comes less than a week after Eric Blankenstein, whom Donoghue had criticized in the past, stepped down as the CFPB's policy director for supervision, enforcement and fair lending.
Cara Petersen, principal deputy to the assistant director for enforcement, was appointed acting director for enforcement, American Banker's sources said. Deputy Enforcement Director Jeff Ehrlich was appointed principal deputy for enforcement.
