Red River ResourcesLtd. said July 7 that it has started diamond drilling at the high-priorityLiontown East prospect at its Thalangazinc project in Queensland, Australia, as part of its ongoing high-impact explorationstrategy at the project.
The Liontown East prospect is 1.5 kilometers away from the Liontowndeposit, which currently has a mineral resource estimate of 2 million tonnes at8.4% zinc equivalent, and the company's reprocessing of the Liontown project area'shistorical geophysical data indicated that the Liontown East anomaly is of similarsize and scale to the Liontown mineral resource.
Red River's drill program will initially comprise one hole fora depth of 580 meters, with additional holes planned subject to positive drill results.The first drill hole is expected to be completed by the end of July or the startof August.
According to Red River Managing Director Mel Palancian, the Liontownmineral resource is not yet incorporated in the Thalanga mine plan and the ongoingreview of the Liontown mineral resource and any additional mineralization definedat Liontown East could have a material impact on the ongoing work for the project,in preparation for the start of Thalanga's mining study.
