Sky Ltd. is considering investing in a new full-fiber network that will be constructed by Liberty Global PLC, London's Financial Times reported.
The Comcast Corp.'s British unit is said to have had discussions with Liberty Global and expressed interest to become both an investor and a customer, the report said, citing three sources.
Liberty Global has formally registered the new entity, Liberty Fibre Ltd., with the British government registrar Companies House. The British telecom operator has also tapped LionTree to help find partners for the new venture.
Meanwhile, Sky is also in separate discussions with Liberty Global unit Virgin Media over a potential wholesale cable network deal.
