Shaanxi Coal's H1'19 earnings slip 1.2% to 5.87B yuan

Shaanxi Coal Industry Co. Ltd. on Aug. 15 said its net profit attributable to shareholders of the first half fell 1.2% year over year to 5.87 billion Chinese yuan from 5.94 billion yuan of the year-ago period.

Basic EPS during the period rose to 60 fen, from 59 fen of a year earlier.

The company's operating revenue rose 24.2% year over year to 32.59 billion yuan in the first six months from 26.24 billion yuan of the comparable period. Operating costs increased by 53.6% year over year to 18.27 billion yuan over the period.

The net profit attributable to shareholders after deducting non-recurring items was down 2.9% to 5.78 billion yuan compared with 5.95 billion yuan of the prior year.

The company also said it produced 53.7 million tonnes of coal in the first six months, representing an increase of 1.9% from the same period of the previous year.

As of Aug. 15, US$1 was equivalent to 7.03 Chinese yuan.
