DOB Equity, AHL Venture Partners co-invest in Crop Nutrition Laboratory Services

Impact investors DOB Equity and AHL Venture Partners co-invested in Crop Nutrition Laboratory Services, a Kenya-based provider of laboratory tests for soil, water and crops for farmers, research institutions and nongovernmental organizations.

The capital will enable the company, also known as Cropnuts, to regionally expand its capabilities for larger laboratory facilities and increase sales of its mobile laboratory units.

Canada-based AHL invests in small and medium-sized enterprises across various sectors in sub-Saharan Africa, while Netherlands-based DOB focuses on the energy, food and agriculture, education, retail and distribution segments in East Africa.

Separately, DOB Equity and Global Innovation Fund co-invested in Kenya-based recycler and recycled plastics distributor Mr. Green Africa, Private Equity Wire reported.

The investment, which was in partnership with Unilever, will help the company expand its aggregation model and increase its processing capacity, according to the report.
